The Vapor Density comparisons are only valid when the fuel escaping is at the exact same temperature because the bordering air itself. If your chemical is escaping from a container where it was pressurized or refrigerated, it could first escape and behave being a heavy gasoline and sink in the air (whether or not it's got a Vapor Density value lowe
